This temple is one of the oldest temples of China known dedicated to the god of literature Man Cheong, and to the god of war, Kuan Yu. Built in the 1800s, it has a history of being the place of justice as people vowed and settled disputes in front of the gods. The intricate wooden carvings and the huge bell shaped incense coils with red prayer plaques hanging from the ceiling filling the atmosphere with smoke giving a mystique feeling. The temple is worshiped by both the Daoist and Buddhist communities. You can do a little bit of shopping and check your luck at the fortune teller stalls thronging the surroundings of the temple.
